The new nature learning trail

Together with our two volunteers from South Africa we established a new trail in the forest. Sally and Dale volunteered three months at the station from March until May and they spend lots of their time working on the new trail. With the help of Cristian and Genio, they constructed about 1 km of trail which now connects with our old trail and forms a circuit. The trail starts next to the station house, runs parallel to the road towards the border of the reserve and then gradually moves down into the forest. It crosses some native Bambu (Guadua) patches and leads to the reserves water source. At this spot we have a small water fall during the rainy season. Then the trail moves upwards again and connects with the old trail.
